northern lights

this was painted in photoshop.  i looked at a bunch of photos before i started, but not while I was painting.  i wanted to do something slightly removed from the real thing.   this is for a project james and i are working on (well mostly james, i just did the animation at the end).  i'll link to the video when it is released.

Canon has some kind of auto-rotate feature embedded in the camera, hence the sideways images that I don't feel like fixing.  Sorry about that.  At least I found out why.  By next post I'll fix it.  These were done last night at the Brooklyn Artist's Gym, which is a great space on 7th St. between 2nd and 3rd Ave.  The manager there, Rhia, is fantastic and the class was a nice relaxing time.  Went with Johnny and hopefully we'll be going more often.   They're mostly 30 sec or 1 minute poses, longest one may be 15 minutes or so.  Sad you can't really tell which one.  Ah well.  Keep practicing.
